So on my way to work today I was thinking about how quiet it is. It is almost like riding an elevator for 45 min. I look at people and everyone has there one little spot picked that they stare at for the whole time they are on the bus. If for some reason your eyes should meet with someone else, then they quickly look away to avoid looking like you are checking the person out. There is a wide array of people also, from school kids, old folks, drunk bums, blue, and white collar. I get a kick out of it, I sit at the back every day in the same spot and I always leave room for people to sit beside me. All of last week I sat by myself, and the bus was so full it had to miss the last 2 stops to pick people up. The reason why no one sits beside me is because it looks full from the front when you get on. Or it could be sheer intimidation, they are blinded by my beauty.
So I am recommending a wonderful band called 'The Crimea' the EP is called 'Lottery Winners on Acid' there are some good songs here, and I am strongly thinking that this will become one of my favorites quickly. I especially like the title track 'Lottery Winners on Acid' . Anyway they have a folk type pop implosion sound. Similar to a Doves, Arcade Fire type thing. Well why are you reading this? The music doesn't buy it's self.

One two buckle my shoe.
So this last weekend was a much needed rest. I did a whole lot of nothing. So since I have not much to blabber on about I figured I would speak about what you should buy for listening pleasure.
Not sure how many of you are into the whole Punk Cabaret thing but if you are into dressing up and doing the can can, I recommend the Dresden Dolls. At first listen I thought a little of The Mates Of State, but the more I dug into it I thought of PJ Harvey, or Rasputina. Jennifer really liked the sound, and I was impressed also. The music was formed and has the same musical feel as the German Kabarett of the 20's. Without the foumfen tuba sound.
I am headed somewhere with this, and it is this. Even though they are following the same recipe as a few other bands out there i.e.. White Stripes, Mates of State, The Ravonettes. And that is the smaller the band, sometimes the better the sound. So go on out and pluck this sweet nectar filled efflorescence from the music bush and enjoy.
And rest easy knowing I am looking for new and exciting sounds to tempt the ear buds.

So........... How you doin?
So I was trying to figure out how much time I will have off this summer. And with Vacation taken combined with regular days off, I will get 6.5 weeks. This does not include weekends. The other cool thing about it is June 10th I get 6 days off, then work for 2 weeks, get 2 weeks off, work for 2 weeks, and get 1 week off, and so on for the whole summer. This kicks ass mainly because I get allot of time to be with family and friends.
So this picture was taken last summer, after we got back from California. I think Jen looks like she could be a cover girl for Roxy, or Hyperlite. Very beautiful.
My musical pick for now is and album by the Kaiser Chiefs, it is called 'Employment'. The album starts out strong, with a bit of a lull around song 5, but it finishes good like an ice cold beer. So run on out and grab this little goodie while it is still priced low, I believe A&B has it for about $8. It's like their giving them away.
Well until I figure out what to write next time......... Next time.

So here are some more pictures from Coachella last year. The picture of the band is the Pixies, the crowd shots are taken to show how they would box us in. I can remember Jennifer and I found out that Beck was making a guest appearance, so we leave watching Sparta to make our way to the tent he was going to be in. We were at the back of the tent which was wide open at the back(meaning no wall). So we stand there for about 10min, the temperature that day was 40. So after standing there for that long, Jennifer was starting to turn white, we turn around to get out. Only to find out that we were in the middle of the crowd, which ended up taking about 8-10 min to get out of. One guy in the crowd asked Jen if she was ok, you know trying to be the nice guy to the beautiful lady. So we end up getting out and going to another tent to cool off. That was by far the hottest weekend I have ever spent in the sun. I spent $40 on water that day, and went to the washroom once.

Coo, Ca..... Coo, Ca...... Cooo Ca..... Luke I am your Farder.
Well the force is obviously all over the planet, and unless you live under a rock you can't miss all the Star Wars hype. Honestly I do not mind it one bit, I have bought stuff for Tegwyn and it kicks ass. I have let him watch episodes 1, 4, 5, and 6. I figure this weekend we will watch episode 2 together, It is cool to sit and explain who is who, and what will happen to each of the characters. So ya that is my speal on the empire known as Lucas.
I was thinking the other day about this guy a long time ago when I was about 21, him and his buddy were at this party I was at. Just like my wife I have this brutal ability to get every kook in a 10 meter radius to slowly turn and look at me then come over to where I am and start talking about the stupidest shit. So I was minding my own talking to one of my buddies when these two jerk offs came over and started talking about the dumbest shit. They started off with their idea of an icebreaker, I believe it was one of those racist jokes. Then they moved on to brag about how they kicked ass in a fight earlier(with no conception of the personal space bubble). I understand these guys were just looking to make friends at the party, but holy crap. Now these guys were only about 30-33, and the way they handled themselves is not what made me remember them. It was only one of the things that they said to me that made me promise myself from that day on I would not ever become like them. They said that they wished they could go back to when they were younger, this was no out of the ordinary thought. Sometimes people go I wish I was a kid again, but these guys really wanted to be young again. The one guy sounded so desperate in saying it to me, like he thought I had a Delorian parked outside. It was sad, and it stuck with me big time. I am happy, no felicitous about my life. I always make sure to not regret my past, sure some things happen but we all have a dark period. The past is the past.
Ok, I recommend something from the old part of the collection. It is by Matt Johnson's band, The The. Now I have been telling my buddy Sheldon, probably since the day I met him about 8 years ago that I thought Matt Johnson was an amazing songwriter. I recommend Mind Bomb by The The. This was an album that made me change allot as a kid. This is a solid listening album that says things that will make you go 'ya, I have felt like that before,' or 'Holy shit that is so true.'
Anyway it is an album that if you put in your collection, it will stand the test of time.

THERE BEYOND THE CREVASSE ... IT'S THE HYDRA... TAKE OUT YOUR BROAD SWARD
I will draw your attention to the mighty fine links on the side of the page, each one will take you to a new and exciting place filled with mystery. I will point out one that has been added today, it is the one that says "Marching to a different drum". This is my buddy Chappy, he started his new blog titled 'SPARTAN'. I believe this has some cryptic meaning, like he secretly wishes he was 'Russell Crow' in the 'Gladiator'. Or he may possibly wish he was 'Harry Hamlin' who played 'Perseus' in 'Clash of the titans'. Who knows, but I am thinking this will prove to be an interesting....... something. So we will tune in every now and then and check on the Spartan that enjoys listening to Sparta (the band, not the place). Actually I think the blog name is from 'Homer'(the adventurer, not Simpson).
So in other news, my wife surprised me with a new pair of running shoes last night. This is her subtle way of saying, get off your lazy ass. Actually is because I wanted to start running.... So I went out and ran around the block, all I can say is holy crap I am way out of shape. This is about .6 of a km. I came back huffing and puffing all light headed, I was coughing and shaky. So I proved to myself that I should have started this a long time ago. I will continue running until I reach the goal I have set for myself, which is to run 5 km in the same qualifying time as required by the Canadian military. So I have a long ways to go, but I will get there.
For music I suggest you clean out a spot in the collection, and prepare yourself for the smooth seductive sounds of the Foo Fighters. The new double, yes I said double CD called 'In Your Honor' will be in stores on the 14th of June. And now you have just been filled with another juicy Blingtacular spewing from my temporal, and frontal lobe.

Get it in gear.
Yes, I know I am lagging behind on the blog. I am trying to find interesting things to write about, and by interesting I mean out of the ordinary. I want to keep everyone on their toes thinking which direction will he be coming from next, and just when you figure it out I end up knocking you on your ass with another amazing installment from the Rududu. On that note I have nothing much to say.
Had some friends over on the weekend, and fired up the bbq. Had some rotisserie chicken, mmmm good eats. Washed it down with some Steam Whistle, very refreshing. Sat around and talked pop culture, current events, and other points of interest. Good friends, good food, and good beer. What else do you need? Everyone is primed and ready to be on the lake this summer, which is good that is where I will be for the majority of it.
In other news Sleater-Kinney has a new disc out I have heard 3 song from it so far, and I like it allot. So I will be making my way to A&B to purchase it. If you don't mind the whole chick rock (not being condesending)thing like Gossip, then you will like Sleater-Kinney.
Until next......

Surfs up, way up.
Summer is so close I can taste it. Can't wait to hit the water for another fun filled summer of Wakeboarding. It feels so good to wake up at 8am, and walk down the hill to the lake and strap on the board. Crazy to think that until 4 years ago I had never tried water-skiing, now I spend my summers at the lake tubing, boarding, and swimming. The cool thing is this summer we will get Tegwyn on the skis, he is level 3 in swimming so he should be fine. Also he had ski lessons at Panorama and Big White. Not bad for a 5 year old. Also it will be good because Jennifer should be able to get the board on again this year so I can teach her some tricks. Nothing hotter than a beautiful blonde on a board.
So my question is, what will you do for the summer?

Ne Fnaming Nips, Ha made you sound like you have a hair lip.
Ooo the mighty surprise I spoke about has arrived. So here it is, it is a compilation that the Flaming lips put together of songs that they enjoy. So you get a Smorg of Miles Davis, Bjork, Sebadoh, Faust, And Psychadelic Furs, just to name a few. This is very good music to just sit and listen, by no means is it a get down and party album (unless it is a parrty for 2). As some of you may know this is not the first Late Night tales it is done in the tradition od the 70's compilation albums for easy listening. They succeeded in making it that, it is interesting to see another persons taste and influence. Especially when it is a group that you have as an influence. So anyway The 7" of Seven Nation army is a hot item for those of you music buffs. Only available on E-bay at his point fom thoses that ended up getting it, only 100 were made. It was released on the 10th of April. So if you like I will say it again, only 100 made, me have it. So I belive that if you try hard you can get the LP from some music stores I tried A&B on the 10th, and then a week later they said that they still couldnt get it.... So I went to the distributor, O.K. I am bragging..... I can't help it I lucked out.
In other news the grenade didn't explode, o those former Russians.

Argh me heartys
This is a shot of some mighty sailors on the briny blue. You can tell they are pirates by the tattoos, and the way they drink their rum.
Actually this is a buddy of mine and some friends sailing up the Fraser. I felt bad because he got upset over my words on the mighty 'Tallica'
Well here's to you me hearty, I still disliked the movie.

Pick of the Week..My Butt, Ha ha
Seriously though I recommend The Decemberists. This is grinding along with the same relative sound of allot of bands out there. I say that if you like, Of Montreal, Belle and Sebastian, Or Neutral Milk Hotel then you will do good with the Decemberists. Yes my many minion of the Rududu, I call the the silent majority judging by my comments. Possibly I am just writing for myself, and to let people know there is something better out there for their ears than that Killers song on the radio, a boyfriend that looks like a girlfriend indeed.
So my babbling has got the better of me again. Here is something solid to digest, if you want a good beer try a Leffe. It is a Belgian classified as a strong blonde, I tell Jennifer it is like her.
Until...

Some kind of Crap.
O.K. now it has been a few days since I saw this "Some Kind Of Monster", and I am sorry if I can't be nice about it but I was not impressed. Truth be told the only reason I saw this was because I heard that Lars had a therapy session and asked to have Dave Mustaine come to it. I tried to watch this and not be to objective, but I am sorry I got tired of the whole. I'm a rock star that has sold over 90 million records world wide I think I have lost touch with my roots and we need the spark to be re-kindled with each other.
1. You lost touch with your roots a long time ago... I will go with the about the time you hit the 10 million sold mark.
2. Re-kindle the spark? Heck you are 4 grown men that have been together for the last 15 years, are you having sex with each other? There is no spark.
I personally think the only person that shows any brain power is Jason Newsted, only because he is not in Metallica any more, and he is happy about it.
This is a show with allot of wining, and complaining. Holy crap I was irritated after this show, I reccommend that if you want to get an album from these guys. DOWNLOAD IT....
So other than the fact that the psychologist made $40.000 a month from these guys for something like 524 days so that is almost 2 years so he walked away with about $960000, and holy crap the mock turtle neck sweaters, and the Cliff Huxtable sweaters this guy wears.
Bah I give up this movie is crap, just like the band. (Black album and back was good stuff, after that the band sucked).
O ya, Lars father is a kook. So that means Lars gets it honestly.
O, and yesterday I hear this ad as I was changing channels. I hear James Hatfeild go " Hey friends this is James from Tallica, and you are listening to Blah, Bla, Blah" Ha, come on now Tallica? Tallica. Holy it was brutal.
Any way I am done.
