Rufus Leaking

I got the Pancake Mountain DVD the other day, episodes 3&4. This is one cool kids show, Tegwyn loved it. How cool is it when the kids show has a dance party and the band playing is the Arcade Fire, or The Firey Furnaces. Special guest appearances by Henry Rollins , and George Clinton, o and the Scissor Sisters. It is a kids show for the whole family.
So ya, I have my sights on another rare jewel for the collection. If I can get a good deal on this smokin' limited edition disc, then I will let everyone know.... It's a surprise.

I crack myself up.

And a 1, and a 2, and a 3

Well I must say that Zireeka is an interesting album. I think the idea of it is cooler than the sounds, don't get me wrong it is solid. The only thing is you need to listen to all 4 cd's at once in unison. This is no small feat, how many of you have 4 players kicking around?
So I downloaded disc 1 and used Apple tunes, then put in disc 2 and used Windows Media. Then I put a disc in the home stereo, all I need to do is bring up the other stereo and I will have 4 discs at once. So no I have not had the full Zaireeka experience. When you start the discs the all go track 1, then timed out so you hear 1, 2 , 3, 4. This is cool if you have the players on different sides of the room. I found the toughest part is getting the volume right, some parts play loud then really quiet, so setting the volume is a challenge.
The liner notes say you can listen to each disc on it's own, this is fine and all. The only thing is, if you know there is more to a song so it is like eating a BLT without the LT.
Ya and that is the Flaming Lips.

Never to young to like Hank.

Well I got home today ant there was a package for Brynn. It was the shirt that I bought her from Henry Rollins. It is too cool, on the fron it says "Part Animal, Part Machine", and as you can see from the back it says "Search and Destroy".
Also in the package was a book that I ordered, called "Dream Baby Dream - Images from the blank generation". This is one cool book it is all photos of rock/art icons in the late 70's-early 80's in New York. So it has pictures of everyone from Iggy Pop to Andy Warhol, and Blondie to the B-52's, to David Byrne and Lester Bangs. It is a good conversation piece, and defenetly could spark some good talks with some friends of mine. So that is another interesting piece of goo to digest... Enjoy.Posted by Hello

Chukka Wa Wa...

Well I pick them up in 3 days. A&B called today, so on Friday morning I will pick up Zaireeka by Flaming Lips, and LCD Soundsystem. I am so excited I cant wait. I will need to set up 4 CD players in the living room to listen to the Zaireeka album, because it is 4 CD's that need to be played all together to get the full experience. So when I am down there at A&B I will get them to order A Niki Barr album, and what ever else I think I would like. O music, what a thing. Posted by Hello

April Showers....

A new addition to the family.
Well I have been out of the mix for the last few days mainly due to the fact that our newest addition to the family has arrived. It is funny how when your child is born they are the most beautiful child that you have ever seen.
Jennifer is working hard to get in to the swing of things, and luckily her mother will be staying with us for a month. What a huge help to us, VERY happy that she will be here. So now that my wife has a birthday on the 10th, and my daughter is on the 12th April will be a busy month.

It is enough to drive Collin to drink. Posted by Hello

24 Years ago yesteday.

The most amazing person in the world was born 24 years ago yesterday.
Yes it is true the lady that thought that potatoes grew on a bush until she met me, and other general botany. Was born 24 years ago, to my friends I am known as the guy that likes fresh bread. I think it is true, although I find she has an old soul.
So the day started by Tegwyn and I getting her breakfast at Tim Horton's. Then Tegwyn wanted to get her some flowers so we went and he picked up 3 or 4 dozen roses for her.
He wanted to surprise her so he told me that when I go in the house, tell Jennifer that there was something in the living room. Then tell her nothing is behind my back, then he told me I had to say "just kidding". He gives directions like an old boss I had at one time, the guy would tell me all of these incoherent thought processes and I would have to figure it all out.
So then, Tegwyn and I gave her that timeless classic Napoleon Dynamite. Her day was complete. We got the babysitter at 6:30 so that Jennifer and I could go for dinner at the Met Grill. It was good stuff, I had the Lobster Mac & Cheese( Wow I am talkin' good stuff). Jennifer had the 8oz met steak with BĂ©arnaise, followed by a Carrot cake.
So that was the day in a nutshell, I put the summer wheels back on the car (damn it looks hot).

Holy... Crap... Wher was I?

So on the advice of my buddy Sheldon I went out and got an album by Neutral Milk Hotel. He has been raving about it for the last little while, and told me that when I hear it I will be blown away. He was right, I mean this is good stuff. The last album they put out was in 98', I picked up "In the Aeroplane over the sea" it was released in 96'.
I am blown away that I never heard of this album until now. I am strongly suggesting that you stop what you are doing and head to your local record store, and ask that very trendy tattooed lad behind the counter to order this in for you. I called A&B and they had it in about 3 weeks for me so go, and tell, someone who cares. It could be the best thing you could do for yourself, I swear. Posted by Hello

And from the mouths of children.

Well I have to admit sometimes Tegwyn can crack us up on how innocent he is. Just think if everyone in the world thought about things as basic as a child, man what a place it would be.
Anyway I am going somewhere with this.
Today when Jennifer an I were leaving the house, she asked if I had seen her sandals. I told her that no I haven't seen then since we moved (which has only been 4 days). She said she wanted to wear them, but settled for her other shoes. So just then Tegwyn asks her if the shoes had green on them, Jennifer said "yes" thinking he had seen them. He then says to us "maybe a Leprechaun took them, they like green" I laughed so hard.. Man he is a funny kid.
I asked him what he thought Mom would like for her birthday, which is on the 10th. He told me that he thought she would like a My Little Pony.
O to be young again.

Another day another... day

Yes it is the age old saying that can be applied to every day life.
Well, I started my new position in the company I have been in for the last 4 years. I am getting ready to focus back on the business that Jennifer and I started about 1 and a half years ago.
www.ebcourmoon-productions.ca Looking at a few bands that we like the sound of, and think they would do good here. Once the baby is born it is back to full boar for us.
I have decided to give my two cents for albums that I have purchased, not sure if you care but it is an interest.
I picked up an album by a band called Doves, Good stuff solid sound. I am tired of the whole Copy controlled thing though. I put it in my car CD player the night I got it, and it wouldn't play the car is 1.5 years old. I took it in the house and tried to play it in the home stereo, and it would not play. The stereo is 2 years old. I put it in the computer and it played, so I made 5 copies. Anyone who wants a copy let me know, these can play anywhere. Bah Copy Controlled my ass.
