Oi' bang your Heads

So Metallica has restored some dignity in by books. By far since the black album this is the best, I am glad they have returned to the formula that has worked for years. They don't need radio friendly tracks or the cookie cutter 3.5 minute song to be considered kick ass.

So my little boys and girls raise the horns and bang away this is solid rock. Kirk is back in form for sure!!!

Heck of a weekend

Back in July we headed to Boston for a few days to tour around and as usual we had a blast, my wife and I travel very easily together mainly because we are not big on schedules and enjoy just doing whatever.
So we arrived in bean town without reservations or a place to stay so we left Logan jumped on the Blue line switched to the Green line and headed down to Boylston. we got off and did some searching around. We went in to the Four season to see if anything was available then we quickly left because we didn't want to pay $800 for the night.
We ended up staying at the Radisson it was smashing.
So we got checked in and headed down to McGreevies for some good ol Boston Hospitality. So here is the deal if you have never been to this place you should make a point to go there. The food is awesome, the beer is cold, and the atmosphere is great. I had to go there mainly because I am a huge Dropkick Murphy's fan so I guess even if the beer was warm and they sold hot dogs I would have thought it was great. The thing is it is an awesome place, go there.. you won't be disappointed.
After that we hopped on the train and headed down to Quincey Market for a bit did some paroosing and decided to go to another one of my favorite spots The Black Rose. So Jen and I had some Guinness ribs and a few pints to wash it all down.
Ended up being an early night, I think we were in the hotel by 2ish.

Less than Jake

So a few months ago we went to Hampton beach for a little vacation time. Across the street was a Casino Ball Room and we decided to check out was playing. It was Less than Jake along with Big D and the Kids table.. nothing like a little Ska to get the night off right. We ended up having a blast also we took along my Niece to expose her to some of her Uncles craziness.
We had a blast all around and stayed until the place closed.

The return

So Facebook was sucking the lifeblood out of me and causing me not to post anything of worth here. I have successfully cut the cord and I am running for my life back to the safety of the bloggery.
I will be adding some updates from some recent craziness I partook in.

Been up to lots.

So yes the reno's in the basement are coming along nicely. The stairs are in and a few walls up with lots of drywalling done. I ended up buying tickets for us to go to the Warped Tour in DC, and also on our way dow we will go to see.... you guessed it, The Dropkick Murphys in Portland Maine. So I will be doing a Punk Rock road trip with my wife. Oh almost forgot we will be stopping in Hampton Beach to pick up my Neice to go to the Warped tour. So we will bear a bad influence on her.

The idea of the trip just tires out Andrew... o poor poor boy.

Boston was a hit

So we went and made it back without any major incidents. We ended up taking it semi easy the first night touring the local pubs and drinkery type places. Might have had too much to drink that night.. but that is debatable. They did last call and so I did the typical go get a bunch of Guinness, then head back to the table. When I got back they were telling people to get out. Quickest last call ever. So then the next day we hung out around town. Hockey game and such.
The day after that we headed to Southie for the parade, ended up going to Savin Hill to recapture a little Street Dogs theme. On the way we stopped at Broadway and E St for the DKM mural on Al's Liquor. We ended up making it back to Harvard Ave to get to Stingray Tattoos to get our ink. 6 hours later and some soar arms we were in the pub getting ready for the DKM show. We made it to the show just as they were going on. The show kicked ass and the Venue was as big as my living room so it was cozy. When the show ended I saw Scruffy head over to talk to some people so I got Andrew to come with me to say hi. I yelled 'hey Scruffy' then we shot the shit for a bit with him. Turn out we know allot of the same people in Calgary since I used to hang out at the Warehouse all the time. He made us stay put for a bit until the place cleared out, and then took us back stage to the after party.
So we hung out there for a bit schmoozing and getting pictures. Then called it a night
St Paddies day we were in the pub by noon then at 5 we decided to get ready for the show. Partied it up at the DKM show then called it a night.
Our trip to Mecca was good.

Dropkick

So this year on St Paddies weekend Andrew and I have made all the plans and arrangements to have a real ring a ding dong dandy.
So we head to Boston for the 14th of March and check into the Hotel that is located in Cambridge. Then on the 15th we go to the Bruins Flyers game should prove to be some good entertainment. Then on the 16th we do what we have been planning for almost 2 years (well more just talking and wishing) We go to see the Dropkick Murphys and well do it up punk rock style. Then on the 17th which is St Paddies we go to the second show to see DKM again. So it will be back to back DKM shows, 4 days and nothing but action... throw in a tattoo or two and some beer and we will call it one kick ass time.

I started to reno of the basement last month, and I have all the demolition done so now I am moving onto the framing and so on. It will end up being a top notch spot when I am done.

So take care and I will do my best not to get thrown out of the DKM shows... that is what happened the last time Andrew and I went to see them. I am too punk rock for punk rock. Oi'
