On to San Diego Day 2

So on day 2 we woke up and crawled into the car. We headed south from Morongo to San Diego, on the way we stopped in Paris for breakfast, We ate at Denny's I was happy because they had Choulula sauce which is my favorite. So on down to San Diego after we ate, the drive was nice and the scenery was cool. Once we got to SD we checked into the K.O.A. we rented one of the cabins for 2 nights. Once we got our room we got a 6 pack of Pacifico and sat down long enough to finish it off. Then we were off to tijuana, we caught the bus to the trolley then rode it to the border and walked across. The border was strange... There was a line of people as far as you could see walking along, we went up on a pedestrian walk way over the road, then down on the other side. Then we walked through a turnstyle doorway through a short tunnel, and ta da your in Mexico. No border guards... ? So in TJ we went down the main route, bought a couple of things then went for diner. We went into this cool restaurant that over looked the road, so we sat there and watched things in the sun. We had a huge meal and about 6 beer all for $20. So then we headed back to the U.S. we caught a cab to the border. Once we got there we started to stand in a line that was about 2 city blocks long. Just then an old school bus rolled up and said $1 and we will drive you across, so Joe and I jumped the fence and climbed in. The bus got the oversized lane, and we were throughout the border in about 15 min. Then on the trolley to the bus to the K.O.A., then we got another 6 pack and sat for a bit until we decided to go out... We were looking for a sports bar, what we got was a little room and a guy singing songs to a Karaoke machine. I have been to lots of karaoke bars before, but this was not one of those... There was only one singer, and he had a guitar which he didn't play it was only for effect. So after a couple of Guinness, and some Nachos we decided to called a day.

Back to the K.O.A.

Day 1 California.

In the Balcony befor Flogging Molly.

Me and Beer.

Flogging Molly..

The Morongo Resort.

Me climbing the Palm Trees.

Fly to Palm Springs.

So we flew into Palm Springs, and landed about noonish. We went from -10, and snow to 32 and smokin hot. The Palm Springs airport is all outside with canopy's above to shade you. We left the airport, and got some lunch at Carl's Jr. after we had a couple of burgers we headed out into the desert to a casino resort called the Morongo. We went there because a band called Flogging Molly was playing. We checked into our room, and then went back across the parking lot to get our bags. When we were crossing the lot I spotted Dave King, he is the lead singer for the band. I went up to him and told him we had just flown in from Canada, and we were going to the show. He asked if we had our tickets yet, I let him know that I was going to get them when the box office opened up. He told me that he would put me on the guest list plus 1. So we were blown away, we headed to the room and put our bags there then we went down to the Casino to have a beer or 4. We went to the show, and ended up drinking the bar dry of Guinness... yes that's right they ran out of Guinness.

Sasquatch it is....

So we hummed, and hawed for a bit trying to decide on which festival to go to this Spring /Summer, and well Sasquatch won out. We were liking the lineup at Coachella and also we almost bought tickets to Bonoroo, but in the end Sasquatch was the one for us. We are big Flaming Lips fans, and we have never been to Gorge. Also I am a sucker for a road trip, if we went to Bonoroo, or Coachella we would have flown.
So ya it is at the end of May, and the tickets have been bought.

So the magical mystery tour is being planned. What is the magical mystery tour you ask, well it is magical and it is a mystery, and well... a tour. We are planning either Saint John, or Hawaii at the end of March. So that is it for now I will let you know how it goes.
