I'm fine how are you.?

Well stranger how you been? I know that I have been more than lean on the posts, but I have been busier than a Lawyer at a 25 car pile up.....
I have more or less been burning the candle at both ends, so we could say I am busy. There honestly has not been a whole lot going on, This past weekend I worked on Saturday and then on Sunday we met Andrew, and Colin at the Blackfoot Diner. It is a greasy spoon straight out of the 70's, it has cheesy pictures of cars with little lights for the headlights on every wall. Also there is a train that runs around the full length of the place, and all the waitresses wear pink jumpsuits. It is more a place to go and soak up the atmosphere while listening to some CCR, or Johnny Cash on the Jukebox.
After that Andrew was headed to Recordland, I gave him some picks that I wanted him to look for. Jennifer and I took the kids Christmas shopping, which was quite good. I am looking forward to Christmas, we will be celebrating it on Boxing day this year mainly because I will be working on the 25th. The kids won't know the difference...
So other than that things are pretty much full steam ahead.

So I've been slack.
Picture it.. 2 Saturdays ago, my buddy Andrew comes over. While we were all eating dinner I asked him what he wanted to do tonight. He said anything is cool, so I said "hey, lets go see Juliet and the Licks". He said "Juliet... As in Lewis.. like Kalifornia, Natural Born Killers?" I said "yep" they were in town playing at the Warehouse. He wanted to know what they sounded like, I told him that I would describe them as a female version of Iggy and the Stooges, with a real Sunset Strip feel. I let him hear a couple of there songs, and he liked them.
So we headed on down to the Warehouse, and went on in. There were about 100-150 people there. I pretended I was making my way to the front of the stage while I waved like I knew someone. We ended up about 3 meters back from the front of the stage, perfect spot. They came on about 20min after we got there. Very, Very high energy. I found that the licks were a very polished band, and well Juliet was a crazy lady. We were both entertained and the sound was good, I think it had to do with the size of the place.
When the end of the show came the crowd did the typical encore thing, and then they took the stage again. For the encore thy played 2 songs, one of there own and then she said "this next song we are going to play goes out to one of our favorite rock gods... Iggy". I turned around and looked at Andrew and he burst out laughing. The played Search and Destroy, and it was a mad house. At the end she jumped in to the crowd, and the stage hands looked like they were going to have a heart attack. The crowd ended up getting he back on stage, and then she jumped in again. This time she was headed straight for Andrew and I right beside of us was a support pole, and she grabbed it and climbed up then hung upside down. She hung there for awhile flailing about, almost kicking me in the head. Then she dropped back on the the crowd and made it back to the stage.
So If you have a chance and they are in your neck of the woods, I say go see them.

Well you will all be seeing that I have been wrangled into posting on a joint venture with some buddies of mine. We are very into what we listen to, and some times when we are in the same room together it can get a little tense especially since we each have very strong opinions. So anyway my buddy Sheldon in the Netherlands decided to start it, and I will be posting on it from time to time to thrust my ideas of good bands on to you.

So here is the story on this. Joe is a Plumber, he told everyone that they had to come in a costume and if they didn't the would have to bob for apples in the can. So only one person showed up without a costume, he ended up bobbin' for it. He then went over and started hitting on my wife..... Nice.

Saturday night.

So Saturday went off without a hitch. I ended up being beaker from the Muppet Show. My lovely wife helped me with the sewing,. She is the best, everyone loved it.

Yo.

So we headed on down the road, where to you may ask...? Well Vegas baby!!!! The drive from Salt Lake City to Vegas is cool. The rocks, and cliffs are amazing. I believe it only took us about 5 hours then we pulled in to the Sahara, the weather was hot like 32, and the strip was busy.
The picture of the flower was outside one of those temples in salt lake they reminded me of those cookies that you can get, not sure what they are called.

Salt Lake

So we ended up staying one night in Salt Lake City, that is almost one night to much. This town has a very erie feel to it. We walked from the KOA to the main place there, my wife was curious to check the place out. We walked the grounds looking at everything, one thing that really stuck out was that inside there church type things they had no art or pictures on the walls. Also they have a couple of golden sea gulls, did you know the State bird is the sea gull? The big place you see in the picture is some chapel thing that they don't let people go in. You have to be a member or something.
After we left there we went back to the KOA. Another thing about the place is it is very quiet.

Utah

On our way down to California we had to go through a few States, now one of them was Utah. Have you ever been? Golly now this is an interesting place, there are so many Mormon places it's crazy. I will say this is one very white State. The scenery is cool though, we would pull off the interstate quite often to take pictures.

California Uber Alles

Well I figure I will start throwing up some pictures of the trip we took last year to Coachella. We spent about 2 and a half weeks cruising down, around and back. Got some good shots of the bands we saw and the fun we had, so buckle your seat belts.
This is a shot of the Pixies. Talk about hot weather, it was 106 on the Sunday. I almost melted.

Today is cold, it is about 0 outside. I had to leave work for a bit, and while I was waiting at the train it started to snow. It was melting right away which is good, but damn it is cold.
It is funny how when it gets really cold, and I mean cold like about -40 outside you start to adjust to the whole thing. Then after a week of this a Chinook blows in and the temperature goes up to about 12 Degrees you see people with there convertible open, and some in shorts. In the summer if it is 12 degrees, there would be people going around in sweaters and pants. Ahh those crazy Canadians, we are going to put an addition on the Igloo this month.


The Porsche belongs to my father in law, and the VW belongs to us... There related.

Painting

So here is why I like this painting.
The color, you can see the artists brush strokes, I think the artist is showing how fall can feel.
I think the main reason I like this painting is because our little boy who was 5 at the time did it. At the end of the school year last year, his Kindergarten teacher sent home his portfolio. This was one of the paintings that he had done. We were very shocked, and went out right away and framed it. Now it sits in our dining room for everyone to see.

You may be asking what kind of school sends home a portfolio at the end of the year, well we have him going to what is called an Arts Academy. The school stresses the importance of art and working with the kids in what ever direction they want to go. The school teaches the kids to read and play music on the instrument of there choice, also dance, and sculpting. While they are learning this they also learn there regular subjects. When we heard about this school we thought it was a great idea.

So this is a little something from last Halloween, I was Mr Roboto, My wife is behind me. Dave is the Eyeball, his brother Joe is Christina Agulara, and Then there is.... I can't remember his name, but he is the Kokanee Ranger. There was lots of fun to be had. And I am still thinking of a good costume.

Well it is Tuesday after a long weekend. It is so hard to buckle in after 4 days off. I have to study, but I can't seem to get into it. I need to get 860 on my CCNA just to pass, it is so crazy that they make the required minimum so high. There are 53 questions, and 2 simulators on the exam. I don't know when I will be ready. Do you ever do that? Spend about 15 minutes looking at a sentence over and over again, then realize that you are not paying attention to the words. So then you tell yourself "pay attention" and then a song comes into your head. You do this over, and over for about 2 hours. Before you know it the day is over, and you haven't accomplished a thing. Anyway I imagine I will get through this and hopefully get it on the first try.
So Christmas is fast approaching, looks like we are heading down to Alabama for a week this should be nice. I will probably rent a car rather than have the family drive us around. Then I think we will be doing like we did last year, and staying at Panorama for 4 or 5 days. This way we get in the bulk of our skiing, and enjoy the snow.
Almost forgot, I am trying to out do myself on the Halloween costume for this years party. I have some ideas running through my head, but I want something spectacular. Let me know if anyone has a good idea. I will post my past costumes.
Anyway........

So that was about it for the trip, we ended up heading back to Frankfurt. Then caught a flight back to Canada. Good trip, and good times. 

We took a stroll that night down the red light district. This is one of those places that does live sex shows, I am not sure the name of it.

We sat at this Irish pub all afternoon. It was a nice sunny day. This is Sheldon enjoying a pint. 

There was something going on outside of the palace there. Jennifer and Sheldon hopped on to a ride after a big Steak, and Shrimp dinner, and a few pints. So they didn't enjoy the ride as much as they should have.

So on one of the days we went in to Amsterdam for the night. We hoped on the train with Debbie, and Sheldon (shown here). As a wedding present they got a room at the Amsterdam Hotel for us for the night. It was a nice spot, and we had a good time around town.

Our son drew this, the actual size of this is as big as a stamp. He is more or less getting the finer points of art down. that is why we have him going ot an art school. He just turned 6 and well he is on his way to becoming one heck of an artist. As you can see this is a picture of me, wearing my boot pants. 

Still in the Netherlands

You can see from this picture that they bike allot there. The white line seperates the bikers from the cars, and in most places the bike road is nicer than what the cars use.

What a view... and the scenery is nice too. You can see the bell tower in the background. It was funny, no matter where we went in town we could always see it. So we never got lost, since Sheldon lived next door to it.
