So my buddy Andrew and I set out from Calgary on Monday the 31st, and got to Fredericton N.B. at 4am on Thursday the 3rd. We took turns driving a 24' truck pulling the car on a trailer. So we were huge on the road.
We drove non stop pretty much for the first 18hrs, then stopped for 2 hours to sleep. We were both charged up and got back on the road. We headed down the road some more only stopping to get fuel, and to take a leak here and there. The next 2 hr stop for rest was the next day about 24 hrs later near Deep River. Then back in the truck to burn up the highway. We ended up getting slowed down in Montreal due to a broke down car, then we burned up the road some more. We got to my home town about 3am on Thursday, but all the hotels were booked up due to the local fair going on so I said F'ton it is. We got there at 4am and got into the hotel at 6am, slept until 2pm, and went out on the town.
When we went out we were having a jolly old time, and then we decided to try one last pub before we called it a night. As I was walking across the patio to the door I looked out of the corner of my eye and I spied a friend of mine that I haven't seen in 10 years. So needles to say he was freaked out, Andrew thought it was funny and we ended up talking to this fellow until the place closed then Andrew headed for the Hotel and I went to my buddies house and we sat up talking all night until 9am. He is a good fellow and it was cool to see him, Ross is his name.
So then I crashed out until 3ish, and went to get Andrew. That night we had a little bbq at Ross' house and another friend that I haven't seen in about 10 years showed up, his name is Mike. So then Andrew and I headed to the hotel crashed out until 10am and headed to Moncton. I picked up the family and sent Andrew back to Alberta.
And that is how a cross Canada move is done. Good friends, good times, no sleep.
