So the album I picked up was a re-issue of the original Modern Lovers album which was their first release back in '76, according to any reading I have the album was originally recorded in '71.
Now when listening to this album I was instantly hooked it has all the sounds of a band from the 70's, right down to the keyboard.. or organ as they called it then. At first listen I heard some serious Velvet Underground styling's in the songs such as "Pablo Picasso", "Girlfriend", and "Hospital" also you will hear influences of the day on songs like "Old World" and "Road Runner" with a Stooges feel, all together this album is worth every penny, and has the musical chops to hold its own even now.
Also they are from Boston, which is even cooler since that is my favorite city. GO B's
